I don't know where I fall in this debate, I like tiaras but don't know if they'd look silly with my dress etc, I was against headbands but I have found one now that I really like :) ! I'm going to a local town, when i'm feeling better, which has apparently got a little shop that looks chavvy from the outside but has loads of different headwear, so will try different things on and get back to you!

have to say, i'm in neither camp.

i don't like bridal combs because they remind me of the ones we used to have in the 80s to make flicks!

plus, they're assymmetrical - you have to have them on one side of the head, and assymmetry freaks me out.

i like tiaras on other women, but on me they sit away from my head and make me look very strange...
(yes, i do look strange anyway! :( )

i'm having an aliceband, they're much nicer. decoration in my hair without making it look too high.

Just remembered I don't like bridal combs as my hair is sooo fine they would just keep slipping/falling out and I don't want to have to worry about that all day.
VHC, I'm quite sure you don't look strange!!!!!

LOL @ vhc's comment about the 80's! Nowt wrong with the 80's my dear. Well, apart from combs, electric blue mascara, huge hair solid with hairspray, mahoosive shoulder pads, batwing jumpers, legwarmers, cowl hoods, cerise pink coats, patterned leggings and white stilettos with black tights and puffball skirts. Ok. The 80's were baaaaaaad!

I will be wearing a clip, but as my hair is so fine it will need a pin or two to keep it in place.
Personally, I don't like tiaras, but dress wouldn't really suit one anyway.
For my first marriage I had a silk dupion headband. I remember how it dug into the sides of my face every time I tried ot eat something!
Anyway, my clip is due on Aug 1st. Here is roughly what it will look like.

Ha ha I had a little chuckle to myself here - I think you can actually see the majority of these things on the highstreet right now!! Funny how things come back around

The post office tried to deliver a parcel today, but Russ was still asleep.
I think it's the clip for my hair!

Yep! It was my hair clip.
It's beautiful, but doesn't have any of the grey crystals I asked for, and two of the crystals fell off when I took it out of the wrapping.
I also should have received a free pair of earrings, but they weren't in the package either.
I'm a little taken aback by this. Up to now I was blown away at how personal and prefessional their service was.
I've e-mailed them to see what they say.

It took Gillian maybe 5 minutes to reply to my e-mail.
I'm going to send it back to her tomorrow, and she's going to sort everything.:)

cool, shame you had the bad experience of opening it all wrong though. At least when the next package arrives you'll know it's right. :)

The clip is just what I wanted.
It means now that the woman doing my hair will be forced to do EXACTLY what I had imagined.

I didn't want a tiara then I tried one on with my dress and wanted one - then just before I went back the other day to try it on again I thought I would maybe prefer an alice band but tried on my tiara again and loved it again.

It only cost me £7.99 off ebay too :)

I think it depends on the style of the dress and how hair is done x
