    Hi girls

Next Saturday I'm going into Manchester with the Mother in Law to be to try and find her an outfit for the wedding. She states she doesn't want to look like the typical Mother of the Groom - she's pretty quirky sometimes.

I've got a few ideas about where to go but i also thought I'd put it to the forum!!

    Any ideas?

No help there I'm afriad - just wanted to say I wish my MIL was quirky! She's a typical old lady - very frumpy and floral and traditionsl - I'm dreading her wedding outfit as she won't let anyone see it to help her out!! Oh dear! I'm genuinely concerned for her tho as my mum has a stunning outfit so she's going to look old next to my mum. She's also the same age as my aunt - who is also quirky, fun and dresses really well. Spose it doesn't really matter in the end but I can guarantee its going to be cringeworthy!

Have fun tho and report back xxx

She's in her 50s and very stylish. She likes the finer things in life. She likes Coast - but doesn't want to buy anything from there as she thinks it will obviously look like it's from Coast. She also likes places like Monsoon etc.

Maybe I can help! My mum turns 50 a week after the wedding. My mum has got her dress from the Betty Jackson collection in Debenhams. It's really classy and a great shape. It's not in stores anymore but they do lots of lovely things. This is it:

She's teamed it with a purple jacket from LK Bennett, grey shoes and purple acessories. She looks fab. Worth looking at this colection. We also found lots of lovely things in Phase Eight in Debenhams. Wallis normally do lovely things too.

We are lucky enough to have a fab designer outlet on our doorstep - Bicester Village. Has tons of designer shops like Versace, Karen Millen etc at a fraction of the cost. The LK Bennett jacket my mum picked up from there was originally £275 and she got it for £35!! Worth a trip for anyone sometime if you are after something designer for a bargain. xxx

OOOH my friend lives in Bicester might be worth a trip to visit her when I have some money! Your mum's dress looks fab and sounds like it'll look great with the accessories. :) xx

She moved there a couple of years ago now, so I don't get to see her that often as it's so far away, but she is getting married in April so will be down for that!

So you'll be half an hour away from me  and odds are we'll be at my mums visiting! Do you know whereabouts shes getting married? There are a couple of lovely venues around Bicester we couldn't stretch too!

Everyone in Bicester HATES Bicester village as it causes horrendous traffic and is full of Chinese tourists!! Its uber busy but if you are willing to look hard enough there are some proper bargains! H2b got a Ted Baker suit reduced from £800 for £150 including a funky lined waistcoat. But you really have to trawl! xxx

I can't remember it's a beautiful hotel - just outside Bicester I think, his parents have paid for it and they have exclusive use! Will let you know if we are all still on here when I'm coming down!

That is a bargain - think I would hate all the crowds though!

Definitely try House of Fraser - start at the third floor and work your way down. There's some very good Mother of the Bride/Groom stuff there!

Let us know how you get on

House of Fraser would have been one of my first suggestions, as would debenhams. They've got some lovely stuff in at the moment.
What about John Lewis as well? Worth a try
Isn't the House of Fraser sale on at the moment? Or did I make that up?
