    hi ladies,
following my black white and gold theme for my wedding, i am on the hunt for some gold dresses for the bridemaids. I'd love them to be 'normal' dresses rather than bridesmaid dresses so the girls can wear them again but i'm struggling to find something that isn't super tacky... not helped by my TINY budget (no one can accuse me of marrying for money!)
anyway i've browsed the usual website for a bargain, ebay

    http://clothes.shop....d=p3286.c0.m282

    and price comparison sites
    http://www.twenga.co...es,Dress-018508

but no real joy, i'm very new to the wedding game and sure i'm missing a trick, i just don't know where to look...
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    thanks in advance brides!

    Any of these dresses?

THIS IS IN THE SALE!! - But it's out of stock online. Maybe local stores could help? OR is it too bridesmaidy? http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_81651_1094478_-1?CMP=AFC-AWIN

Don't know whether this is too expensive: http://www.fashionright.com/gold-bronze-puffball-cocktail-dresses.html

Don't know whether this is not bridesmaidy enough! http://www.missselfridge.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33055&storeId=12554&productId=1944135&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208036&parent_categoryId=208035&sort_field=Relevance&pageSize=40&refinements=category~[208037|208036]&noOfRefinements=1

Check these black and gold things out!

Try the high street, coming up to Christmas there should be a few gold dresses appearing.

There are some black and gold dresses in new look but they are mainly black with gold rather than gold as the main colour. You could gold them up with gold accessories?
    199448009.jpg £18

    Dorothy Perkins has this offering
    65000020_2_thumb.jpg £22

How little is your little budget? Monsoon always have gorgeous dresses but they are a little more expensive.
They have this that is lovely but again more black than gold.

You could always try a local dressmaker, it's not normally too expensive to have a simple dress made up in the fabric of your choice :D

I haven't got time to look for it right now but somewhere on this site is a link to a company where you choose the colour, fabric and design and they make the dress - it's UK based and really, really cheap. ANyone remember what it's called? Good luck! :D

Not sure if this is the one you are thinking of Popple, but Style shake are based in the UK and you choose the design, fabric and colour and they are made to measure and very reasonable! Worth a look anyway.

Here is the link Style Shake

    Hope it helps. :D

Hi tinker and welcome to the site! :D

That's a tricky one! If you want to avoid anything looking cheap, best to stick to anything that isn't too shiny, and maybe go for a darker, more antique-gold colour.

Style Shake is good, and InStyle might also be worth a try as the shopping section has a search tool that lets you look at lots of stuff on the highstreet and in catalogues.

Let us know if you manage to find anything! When are you getting married?

Just found a couple on good ol' M&S:

Maxi Dress (might be a bit shiny though...) - and I think they are bringing out a knee-length version soon

Knee-length dress (not quite gold though, but fairly close!!)

You could also try www.sexyher.co.uk. Another lady on her recommended them and got her dresses from there. Similar to Style shake I think. xxx
