Planning My Day....

I am getting married on the 29th May (28 days to go!).

We are getting married in a hotel, then having a BBQ on the terrace afterwards.

I have 3 bridesmaids and our son will be pageboy (he is 4).

Mother in law is making all the dresses. My dress, and the bridesmaid's dresses are finished and now she is adding finishing touches to the littlest bridesmaids dress. We've bought H2b a suit (grey, with black shirt and and purple tie), and our sons suit (grey trousers, white shirt, silver waitcoat, purple tie).

I've bought all the shoes (very important, nearly over-looked this! :blink: )

 

And I clicked post by accident then.........

The flowers have been ordered. I'm having Lily of the Valley (and I didn't copy Kate, I had the idea first!) The bridesmaids (in silver dresses) have purple cala lillies. The button holes are purple cala lillies, except for my son and little brother (who's 9), they will both have lily of the valley. H2b has a cala lily and a bit of lily of the valley too.

Hairdresser is booked.

I've met ith the hotel and registrar last week and gone over all the final details, made a little time-table;

10.00 arrive at hotel, decorate rooms.

12.00 lunch at Beacon Quay

2.00 back to hotel, check in, meet bridesmaids, dad, hairdresser

3.45 Sam and best man arrive

4.00 ushers arrive

4.30 ceremony starts

5.00 drinks reception/photos

6.15 BBQ on terrace

7.30 speeches, followed by cutting the cake

8.00 evening guests arrive



What do ya think? What have I forgotten? Lol.

 

Sounds excellent! Might be worth also making a list of all the little things you might need on the day - safety pins, make up, perfume, plasters, etc.

I saw on your other topics that you've been thinking about what reding to have - I started a similar topic the other week, so I hope this helps!

Yep - got Thurs and Fri off :blink: I'm currently making our table plan board and box for cards!

All I've got left to do now is finish making a playlist for the evening, organise my ushers (3 teenage brothers), meet with my photographer at the hotel, let the hotel have final numbers, help the best man with his speach , pay the final bill, and everything else I've forgotten.......

 

I am sure you havent forgotten anything and if you have it will be too late on the day and trust me you wont care on the day Ha ha!! We spend months even years organising our days and on the actual day, well for me anyway the things that didnt go to plan didnt really matter!

 

That is reasuring. I've been engaged for 4 years and planning for 18 months so one would think that I would be organised!

 

Please help me. I've got 17 children coming (aged between 1 year and 16 years old) and I'm having big jugs of squash so that parents don't have to spend a fortune at the bar on fruitshoots and J2Os if they don't want to. My question is, how many jugs do I buy? Each jug is about 5 glasses.

I realise this a really silly question. I dealt with the big things, like the dress and the venue fine, but the little details throw me

 

I'd buy about 10 to keep them going or just ask the hotel to refill them when needed. I know what you mean about the small things, they get me all the time!

So now I am making a list of everything I need to take with me on the day and on honeymoon. Other than; Make up, dresses, shoes, bridesmaids gifts, hair comb, suitcase with all my honeymoon stuff packed and ready to go (that's a whole new list, I like lists atm), is there anything else I will need?

The flowers and decorations are being brought by other people.
