I have an issue. I purchaed this wedding dress 76215.jpg

and then found this one on ebay and have been watching it for ages. !Bt)vzQ!EWk~$(KGrHqEH-DMEvoeKZ65NBL9YNKn0T!~~_35.jpg

it's a lot nicer than the picture looks as it has gorgeous delicate beading on the front. Soooooooo of coure I ended up buying the ebay one and now have to sell the more expensive brand new choc brown one which I loved but is too long and the detachable straps were thin and the thought of not wearing a decent bra would scare me!

I have bingo wings extroadinaire so like the sheer sleeves on my new one:) Can't wait for it to be delivered and was £51! Bargain. I'm getting married late Sep / Oct so it will be cooler anyway.

    Am I completely mad?

No, it is perfectly normal behaviour to buy bargain dresses off ebay!! *Jealous glare at the purdy dress*
I wore a 'shrug' so my bingo wings didn't flap into anyones' face on wedding day.

Have you toldh2b of your bargain buy? xx

I have indeed just informed my poor despairing other half that I have purchased 'another'wedding dress. His reaction was awesome considering I have over two years to go and since deciding only a few weeks ago to get married, I am already on my second dress! His patience astounds me :)

it really does depend how much more expensive it was.

was it expensive that you could let your chief bridesmaid wear it?
or was it expensive that you really should sell it in order to be able to pay bills?

can you wear the first one for special occasions like dinner parties etc?

the thin straps isn't really an issue. you can get ribbons in matching colours and sew them on, or you could wear a strapless bra.
or get diamante straps (or somesuch) for your bra

I am going to sell the brown dress and keep the ivory one. Sigh. It's a tough decision tho. My bridesmaid is 4 so it wont fit her for a while and I could spend the money on something else. The dress I really, really want is impossible to re-create as it is in my imagination from a 1940's photograph and I have never seen one like it since seeing the photo. Given that my drawing ability is akin to my daughters then I have no chance of getting my real dream dress :)

have you got the 1940s photo?

you could skim for vintage patternson ebay, or by google, because i bet you would find one that fits your picture.

I love ebay. I got 100 place cards for under £5 and 100 organza favour bags for about £6 or £7.
