We wanted to ask for contributions from our guests, but as we aren't having our UK reception until we are back we felt we couldn't really ask for that!

Both sets of parents and Russ' grandparents paid for ours as wedding presents.
We would never have gotten a honeymoon otherewise.

We're gonna ask for a few bits and bobs on a gift list, but want the majority to be contributions to honeymoon. I know some people don't like giving money hence a bit of a proper list too :)

We are doing abit of all of it really........ H2b parents are putting down a large chunk as this is their gift to us. But we are paying for most of it. I am trying to convience h2b that this is the way forward for our family and friends to contribute towards but he thinks differently at moment.

I agree that it's not ideal asking for cash instead of an actual gift, but in all honesty we don't really need anything at all for the house. We moved in 2 years ago and pretty much decorated & furnished it then. We considered asking for Next/B&Q vouchers for its future upkeep, but then I thought we'd be sitting on potentially hundreds of pounds worth of gift vouchers but unable to go on honeymoon. So to cut a long story short we're just asking for honeymoon contributions and hoping no-one will take offence.

We're going to ask for vouchers towards a honeymoon, I know some people don't like giving money but they don't have to buy us a gift if they don't want to :(

We are asking for donations towards the honeymoon - but I know there will be traditional people in my family who would rather buy a gift or give a gift voucher. To combat it we are going to point everyone to our honeymoon gift list, but say that any other gift would be happily accepted too. I already know that there is a family member who has set aside money for a home appliance as our wedding present.

Not looking like we'll get one now as the baby will be under a year old. :)

    There go my maldives dreams.
