I would have loved a winter wedding if my circumstances had been different. Hotels put up their decs and Christmas trees so it's basically free decorations :D. And the log fires are so warm and welcoming. I would have had a golden coloured dress and a red cape.

You could decorate baubles or something christmassy as place names and favours, and have mulled wine as after wedding drinks.

The only thing I would suggest is that you check venues in advance as lots get booked up for work Christmas parties.

I would have chosen a medieval style dark green dress (or midnight blue) with embroidery and long sleeves :)

I would have gone with either silver and white or beautiful rich jewel colours, both with loads of candles and lanterns.

    Silver & White Ideas
    Beaded decorations

    Twigs painted white

More natural look - loving the use of pine cones, you could add winter scents and use natural or spray them

It is so difficult to choose a 'look' for your wedding - there are just so many gorgeous things out there!

    :)

Helen would you like to add wedding planning to your cake business ha ha! You have brilliant ideas.

My friend got married the year it snowed from November to feb! She got married in early December. it was lovely. She had photos in the snow.

She didn't so much go down the Xmas theme but the Christmas trees were up And she did have little crackers as favours and name places.

Sarah, have you looked at venues yet? I would start there and though think of ideas don't commit to anything until you have choosen a venue, your ideas will come flooding in then. A hotel near me does a special winter package so I am sure other hotels do too. Think about your budget too and look at what is in within your range too. Don't think you have to stick to the traditional hotel reception either, lots of brides have done things a bit different on here, Helen for one but also popple got married in a castle then decorated the village hall. A friend of mine is having a small wedding 10 guests in a hotel with a meal, then we are all going to a wedding party in the local hall at 5 with food and music etc.

Agree with Mrs Brown, find a venue and the rest will follow. You can get some really good deals in the winter months if you wanted a ' full package' (lol!) they like to throw everything in for the special offers so you can find a bargain. It depends how much you would like to do yourself too.
