    depends what colour [IMG]

mine's going to be coloured: green bodice (3 different greens) and creamy gold skirt.

I suit green a lot better than white, but with the gold skirt, it won't look too dark.

what colour are you thinking of?

Well I was thinking of green! I've always thought about having a green dress but when I've mentioned it a few people have said it's not very weddingy or why am I giving up the chance to have a 'proper' dress so now I'm not sure. Normally I do as a please lol but I am having to think about this now!

I think its totally up to you. Coloured dresses are lovely and if thats the sort of person you are nobody should really question your choice. Lots of people dont like the usual white/ivory selection. x

I was toying with the idea of having a red dress. In the end I went for ivory, but only because the dress I picked is so glam that I was in danger of looking a little riské if it had been in red!!

Your wedding dress should be your dream dress, not anyone elses. Try some on and go for whatever you love the most [IMG]

I haven't got a full coloured dress but have got colour in my dress. I just wanted something that little bit different, and found my perfect dress straight away :)

You should have what you want to have, its your day. Why would people think that you're giving up your chance to have a 'proper' dress, its still a wedding dress no matter what colour it is. If thats what you want I say go for it [IMG]

when i started looking for dresses, I googled "green bridal gowns" and "green wedding dress" etc and copied loads of images as ideas.

You can get some amazing prom dresses, and in green, and a lot cheaper than a proper wedding dress!

some of the images i found were breath-taking, definitely not selling out on style!

I have got an ivory wedding dress, but when my H2B was asking questions about my dress a few weeks ago I told him it was a very pale pink & he swallowed it. Just can't wait to see his face on the day. [IMG]

I wanted a blue dress but have ended up with a white one as it was impossible to find a blue one to try (unless it was a bridesmaid dress). Tried on ivory to get idea of styles, then tried a white one which i thought looked tacky on the rail, and loved white on me, so decision made!

Have exactly what you want, but try everything! you only do it once!

    Good luck hunting!

i thought about that too - not that a black dress would be unsuitable for a church wedding (believe me, i'm a regular churchgoer and that kind of thing just doesn't matter anymore!), more I was worried that the photos in church would be dark! it should be fine though if you have a good flash.
our church has mainly exposed sandstone blocks and looks quite dark, but photos turn out quite well.

I wouldn't worry about it - go with whatever you feel gorgeous in!
