I don't know what to have for walking down the aisle as the aisle is really short. We're having a civil ceremony too so it will be a CD track

We're the same Mrs_B, in fact it doesn't really dignify being called an aisle in our room!

Do you know a good song with about three notes in it, LOL!
Our first dance is easy, i've put a link to it somewhere on this thread, but this is stumping me. I need to ask them if music can be played whillst guests are coming in and getting comfortable, though theres only 16 and a half people so that won't take long either!

Thank you, it did the same for us too and it just clicked that it was the one for us!
I like Rod Stewart as he's got that gravelly rock type voice I like, if that makes sense!!

Yeah, I do know what you mean - that's exactly why we prefer his version

Ours was initially sung by Shania Twain and the words were great but don't think i'd ever live down Shania so glad when he popped up on American Idol! xx

For walking down the aisle I love Shania Twain's 'From This Moment' but like I said earlier my aisle is very short and I haven't got a massive bridal party, however I do have some page boys and a bridesmaid so I could send them down first but will the regstrar just stop the C.D/Phase it out etc....does anyone have any experience of this type of situation? Thanks

Yes send the pageboys & bridesmaids 1st that is what I am doing. I would imagine the registrar will fade the music out especially if the have done lots of weddings at your venue but maybe you could just ring them & double check?

is there any moment in the song where it goes loud and wonderful?
if it does (which being Shania, i'm sure it must do!), then you could time your entrance for that, and make sure everyone's standing to listen to the rest of the tune before you come in.

or could you do a turn about the room? like, round the back then round the side and come in like that , rather than straight down the middle?

I'm going to finalise my music choices this week.

Sending attendants down first is a good idea. My parents are walikng in first, then my MOH, then me.
I'll be walking in to Han Solo and the Princess by John Williams, and the obvious bit for me to walk in to is a minute and a half in.
We don't get any sort of rehearsal, so I've no idea if the timings will work the way I want, but one of the ushers is going to fade the music out when I I've done my bit.

Now just three other pieces of music to choose!

Ok, Russ isn't really up for this stuff at the moment so I'd appreciate some advice.
I've got a couple of weeks to finalise music and reading choices before I send the ceremony forms back.
I know what I'm walking in to, but I need to make 3 other choices for the ceremony, along with background music for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast.

    Firstly the ceremony.
I want music that's not too sentimental, that would be entertaining without overshadowing the meaning of the ceremony. My thoughts so far are....

    PRE CEREMONY
Friday I'm in Love by the Cure
Crazy Thing Called Love by Queen.

    SIGNING THE REGISTER
I'm a Believer by The Monkees
I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers
All Day and All of the Night by The Kinks
You Really Got Me by the Kinks

    EXIT
Don't Stop Me Now by Queen
Everybody Needs Somebody to Love by the Blues Brothers
I've Gotta Feelin by Black Eyed Peas

I love all of these songs, and all except the Black Eyed Peas and the Cure have relevence to us as a couple. I'm just worried about the mood I would be setting, especially when signing the register.
Are some of these a bit too full on?

FrogBitch - Sorry to hear about your dog, Hope you both feel better soon, It's a horrible thing but it gets better with time. As for your song choices I love them all and think they are great - We are signing the register to a classical version of Metallica and take that - greatest day and not sure what we are walking out to yet but know we want something fun and happy to set the mood ( we had toyed with the idea of the rainbow + fraggle rock theme tunes but have bottled it!

Sorry don't seem to have been much help, sending big hugs to you both xx

I don't think they are too full on - I quite like it when there is more upbeat music at a wedding! Often wedding music is a bit luvvie-dubby for my tastes. With the songs you've picked it will set a really fun mood for the rest of the day :)

Awesome choices. Your wedding is about you and if they are relevant to you then they are perfect. I haven't dared think about music yet. Maybe i'd better start!

    My personal favourites would be:

    PRE CEREMONY
Crazy Thing Called Love by Queen.

    SIGNING THE REGISTER
I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers

    EXIT
Don't Stop Me Now by Queen

However this may be a bit too much Queen (if there is such a thing)! :)
