We are having a civil service but not bothering with an order of service - it seemed a pointless expense as we have no songs for people to need words to and they mostly get left behind anyway so we decided to use the money else where (we have a very laid back theme to the day anyway)

We are having a civil ceremony too so not bothering, but have you tried searching on line? when I was looking for words for the invites there were lots of wording ideas. Might be some for orders of service too? Good luck

    oh, i can help then!

    the headings are:

    entrance (and the entrance music)
    welcome
    declarations
    hymn
The Marriage and Exchanging of the Rings
    Psalm
    The Readings
    Sermon (or Talk)
    Hymn
(then follow some prayers with no heading, just says Priest: Let us Pray...)
The Choir will sign the anthem...
    Prayers
    Hymn
The Registration of the the marriage
as the register is signed the choir will sing...
    Hymn
    Dismissal
    Recessional Music

most OOS i've seen from our church have 3 hymns (and not as much stuff as we've got - the psalm will be sung by the choir, and we'll join them in the anthem, so you really only need to put what they'll do during the register), so it would go
    entrance (and the entrance music)
    welcome
    declarations
    hymn
The Marriage and Exchanging of the Rings
    The Readings
    Sermon (or Talk)
    Hymn
    Prayers
    Hymn
The Registration of the the marriage
as the register is signed the choir will sing...
    Dismissal
    Recessional Music

sorry, forgot to say, we're putting the words of the hymns in (please check your church has a CCLI (they'll knwo what it is!) or you'll have to pay for reproducing the words in your OOS)
    and what the readings are:
Paul's Letter to the Philippians ch 4 vs 4-9
1st Letter of Peter ch 1 vs 3-8 and 15-end

the name of the vicar doing the sservice where it says sermon or talk

and anything that the congregation will join in eg : there's a bit where the priest asks your friends and family if they'll help and support you etc, and they have to say I do.
and we've put "after each prayer please repeat Amen" and written out the Lord's Prayer in full.
