    Hi everyone!!

I woke up this morning and thought "OMG, two weeks today, aaaahhhh!!!" We still seem to have loads left to do, and I can't believe we have just two weeks left!!!! Is anyone else here getting married on Saturday 7 August?? Do you still have things left to do?? I just can't believe in two weeks and one day everything we have been preparing, imagining, looking forward to and sometimes dreading will be over.... crazy!!!! I wish I could have a glimpse of the future and just know that everything was going to go according to plan, etc.!!! By the way, for those of you who followed my last minute dress panic post, I'm feeling a lot better about it now!!! According to a friend who got married last year it's entirely normal, she said she felt very strange when she put on her dress too, wasn't sure about it at all towards the end, etc. and then loved it on her wedding day!!!!

    i'm 7th August, Hanna!

We paid for our evening buffet yesterday- the biggest single outlay of the whole wedding! :(

I'm getting dress jitters, too - everyone says it's lovely, so i have to worry about still being able to fit in it (how much weight can you put on in 3 weeks? )

    Hi everyone!!

How exciting, there are so many of us!! MrsApplen2be and Julia, less than a week!!! I think's it's normal to have quite some things left to do right before the wedding because some things can only be done just before your big day, and I think (at least in my case!!) I need the pressure of the date getting closer and closer to take care of some annoying organisational issues I have been putting off and off and off!!
vhc, that's great, August 7th just like us!! :)) Ours is an evening wedding, it starts at 5.30 pm, mainly because of the heat here in Spain! What about you? I'm a bit worried about having a whole day to get nervous before the wedding actually starts, but I suppose I will just need distracting, or something! I'm also having my hair and make-up done in the morning since we want to have some photos taken of the two of us before the wedding so that we don't lose precious time with our guests during the drinks etc. do I prefer to get it out of the way early on...

vhc, we have to pay for all the meals next Friday and in our case too that makes up about 70% of the total cost of the wedding, maybe even 80%! I suppose there's no way around that!!

I had my hen's night last night (great fun!!) and I just couldn't stop thinking "at this time in two weeks' time we'll be having drinks", "at this time the dinner starts", "right now we'll be dancing", etc... Crazy!!! I just can't believe it in two weeks' time it will all be over...

Now the dress jitters have nearly completely gone I have started to wonder whether my speech is OK, whether we chose the right music, etc. I also plan to sing for my future hubby, I'm not in any way a great singer and I have NEVER EVER done anything like this before, but I thought it would be really romantic! I bought the Karaoke version of "The way you look tonight" by Frank Sinatra (although I'm planning to sing the version by Rod Steward) and I've been practising every day for three months now (I work from home and he doesn't so that's been easy!!) and now I've started to wonder whether I'll be brave enough, whether I won't have lost my voice (when I do a lot of talking and laughing I always lose ny voice!!), whether I'll really manage.. Aggggrrrr!! I also can't stop wondering whether everything really will go according to plan, etc... it all seems so unreal!! Anyways.. we'll soon know!!! I suppose all these feelings are normal!!!

Thanks Becky for your comment about my dress!! :)
Good luck to everyone who is nearly there (and to the rest of you too, of course!!! :))

ooh, hanna! how sweet that you'll sing for him - i'm sure it'll sound beautiful and he'll love it! :)

the only thing we have left o organise, i think ( ), is the food for the daytime.
my parents and little sister are paying for that, so it won't get bought until the day before!
that's cutting it fine (but that's what happens when you do your own catering! )

i'm sure everything will turn out fine on the day for yours - instead of thinking you have the day to panic, think that you have the day to relax, get pampered and have fun!

    Dear vhc,

Thanks for your message! It sounds like you actually have everything under control if you just have the food left to deal with! Well done! :) I don't quite dare tell you exactly what we have left to do because it would probably make you fall off your chair in shock! I'm trusting this is like when you have an exam though, the closer you get, the faster you go!!! I always did well on exams but was always still studying the night before, so I will probably still be filling my cones with rose petals or tying ribbons onto my mini wine bottles (favours for the men!) the night before but with any luck everything will be ready and in place on the actual day!!

You're absolutely right about flipping thoughts around and thinking positive, a friend who is a psychologist and specialised in NLP says it's all in the mind and the key is positive thinking, so from now on that's what I'm going to try to do, nothing but positive thoughts!!

I'm sure it'll all come together perfectly, think positive and it'll all work out gorgeously :D good luck with it all, you must be so excited that it's so close! x
