I didn't know it was traditional for the brides parents to pay for the dress. So traditionally who would pay for what? :)

Here's where I read it :)

Am I being slightly technocrap by being unable to get my pictures into posts? Help!!

I've heard that the brides parents pay for the dress before too. And that groom is meant to pay for honeymoon... If that's true, it doesn't have to come out of our budget and I can spend more money on lovely decorations and shoes, right?!

We're paying for everything ourselves. My mother is dead and i'd never dream of asking Ben's to contribute as they are on no higher income than us. If traditions were kept i'd be a peasant bride!

Well, were very lucky that Neil's parents have given us a bit of money towards our venue deposit and my Mum is putting 50quid a month into our wedding account. My Dad (parents are divorced) has said he will chuck a bit in too, but we are more than prepared to pay for it all ourselves.

We made it clear from the outset though that anything people give us is up to them, we don't expect it in any way. Its more important to us to have our family around us on the day than to have their money. I've also said that I'd rather have their help and time in getting stuff ready. I'm all about the delegation!

I agree, it's lovely to have help rather than just the money. Ben's parents are really cool in helping out and would I am ure give us money if we needed to ask but I am a stubborn mare. How very cool about your mum putting £50 a month for you, I really like that idea, will have to remember that for when my kids get married.
