Hi,

I am renewing my vows this year abroad and been looking online at dresses. I really like this one on ebay. Has anyone seen anything similar as I really would like to be able to try one on to see if it suits me and also of course not have the worry of the risk of ebay/China.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Monsoon have several very similar styles in their bridal range at the moment, you may want to look there.

Where are you going to renew your vows? :)

Try sending a message to https://www.facebook...100003193356211 with the ebay link in. She buys from China but checks it all over herself first and offers all UK statutory rights for the sale. If you don't like the dress you get a full refund. She does not sell on ebay and only deals with factories in China that make wedding dresses for shops etc. rather than the sweatshops.

I do not normally advocate buying from abroad but here is one instance I would recommend it. It's no different from ordering your dress from a shop, they simply order it in from their wholesaler abroad anyway.

P.s I would absolutely not recommend anyone buy from ebay internationally. Sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear but for your big day then it's possibly not worth the risk.

Thanks guys, I'm renewing in Cuba. I've looked at Monsoon but nothing really grabbed me. I presuming that the new seasons clothing may be out soon though so might be worth a look back? I don't really want to go to a bridal shop as feel a bit of a fraud as I'm only renewing lol, especially as i just want something simple.

Good luck. Cuba sounds fun. Debenhams might also be worth a try.

Have a look at the monsoon website if you haven't already, some stores stock only a couple of things, might be then worth visiting a bigger store that stocks lots.

Debenhams or even bhs do a bridal range. Look at bhs online.

If not what about a bridal shop to look at bridesmaid dresses? They can order in ivory.

How long have you been married for?

Thanks, I've been married 15 years. I'm so looking forward to it especially as my children will be there. They are two girls 6 and 15 and a boy aged 10 so got to get outfits for them too. I will have another look at Monsoon then and BHS. I wish I hadn't looked at Ebay and seen that Dress, lol.

Ebay is lethal like that! I have added the photo directly to your first post so people can see the dress easier than having to go to ebay. xx

Sophia Tolli has plenty of "bridesmaid" dresses you could get in ivory and use. One of my bridesmaids tried hers on in ivory and it looked great. She's having http://sophiatolli.c...cial%20Occasion and there's plenty of others on there that might fit the bill.

Cuba sounds amazing!

I wouldn't worry about feeling like a fraud in wedding shops, you want to buy a dress so you have as much right as anyone else going there.

How about checking out some of the 'destination' wedding dress ranges, they may have something similar.

Welcome to the forums! :)

What a great idea - Cuba sounds fantastic! My sister in law went there a couple of years ago and loved it.

The dress you've found is very pretty, but I agree with poppleminster. You might see quite a few more dresses hitting the shops soon - even though the temperatures have plumetted I've seen a few shops introducing their spring collections.

When are you going?

Thanks for the replies.

I took my girls dress shopping at the weekend and quickly realised they are going to be harder to please then I am! My 15 stated that I couldn't get anything pink, anything frilly or pouffy or anything with a flower on and my six year old was even worse! 'This is not prettier enough mummy', 'this itches' etc etc! sigh, lol.
