Hi all,

Just wondered people that are on a budget looking for cheap wedding dresses, has anybody bought one off the internet like online wedding dress stores or even ebay? I have got my eye on a dress, few actually off ebay!

Buying online can be tricky! There are some great bargains to be had though, so as long as you go about it in the right way then I'm sure you'll be fine. Have you been to try any dresses on yet? One thing that people always say about their wedding dress is that they ended up picking something that was the opposite of what they were looking for. The key is to try on loads of different styles, because they look so different when you have got them on.

Once you find a style you like then you could have a look online to see if there are any bargains available - if you manage to find a dress online that you have already tried on in a shop, then at least you'll know what it looks like!

Hope this helps! What styles are you currently looking at?

Hi Becky,

Yes, thanks for the tip there, my colleague's daughter is getting married and like you say the style she had in mind didn't suit her and something else that she would choose look lovely. I haven't been to try any dresses. I 'll wait till this month is over first, as we all know shops will be hectic!

I'm thinking of A-line dress, as I don't have much of a waist line or column or even empire line, plus I am 5'3 and I suppose when I do find one going to have to pay to get it altered.

I am really looking forward to enjoy every minute of the preparations!!

I can see why you might want to avoid December shopping - it does get a bit manic doesn't it?! It would be nice if the bridal shops had the massive discounts that are being seen on the highstreet at the moment... but that's probably not going to happen sadly!

You'll have so much fun when you start looking :D

I have heard a lot of mixed reviews in regards to the Chinese copy's of designer dresses, some say they are fantastic while others say the are shoddy quality. I personally had a dress purchased from china, the dress was lovely, but the quality isn't like anything you get in a bridal shop. So just watch out!

There are some bargains to be had though, I would book an appointment with your local bridal shop and try on the similar styles to the one you like on the internet. As you may find you won't like them at all! or love them :)
