Oh my goodness, what a week!! That's really bad of the hotel to act in the way they did. Did they confirm the amount before pre-authorising that much? You should complain loudly!
Overall though you seem to have excellent luck with winning things - that's great news about the trip to Florence! Is the cookery course taking place while you are there? I hope you manage to take Charlie with you.
I hope your hand is getting better, I cringed when I read that. You poor lady!

I know the wine seemed excessive, but most places do a package deal for weddings and set the price per head for food and drink.. it is usually quite expensive anyway but you should ask for a quote for how much per head and for your wedding party!
Look carefully at what they are offering, our wedding venue charged £10 a head extra for champagne .. our guests never noticed we had sparkling wine and to be honest we got to taste the stuff before hand and it was gorgeous!

Oooh a bit of a rollercoaster of ups and downs - your poor hand, and how naughty of them to take so much money from your card - and then keep it!
Still well done winning the lovely trip to Italy, that will be amazing.
You probably won't be charged the full restaurant price for a bottle of wine, but as MrsBrown says you'll need to get the figures off them before you can make an informed decison, and look out for sneaky extras, let us know how you get on x

hi everyone
how was everyone's weekend?? my hand is getting much better - so much so I am able to put on my eyeliner again - thank goodness!!!
have just finished writing a lettter to the head honcho at the hotel explaining the situation - so lets see what comes of that - even a written "I'm sorry" would be better than nothing!
had a nice day on saturday just milling around the shops with Terry and Charlie and we went for a cup of tea at the little tea room - at Charlie's request - he's such an old man!! - he practically fights me for the last cup of tea out of the pot when were there!!
sunday spent a lot entering MORE competitions...its been nearly two months doing it and I've done pretty well, but now I'm addicted but it has its good side because it inspires little projects for charlie and I to do. Sunday morning was spent constructing a pub out of a shoe box and making little tables and cars out of anything we could find, the prize it just a case of cider..and to be honest I dont' even like cider lol...but we had fun doing it and if i win some then I can give it as part of a crimbo present for my sister's boyfriend!
