Hello Ladies.

Well i only have days 4 months and 11 days to go until the big day. Sounds alot but i have a million in one things to do and im not sure that im going to get everything ready and sorted out in time.

I still have to make 80 favours for our guests through the day, 12 kiddies treat bag to make, sort out table decorations, venue deco, dj, evening food, my jewerally, sweetie table, suits, presents for maid of honour, best man, guest book etc.

I have a few friends and family who are wiling out but im not sure i can trust anyone to do the job the way i want, it sounds awful but its just i have in my head a certain way i want everything, although i do know not everything can be perfect and i should take as much help as i can.

Im just worried im going to be running around like a blue bottomed fly and will struggle

I still havent even handed my invites out yet, should they be done yet or am i getting too far ahead of myself?

Ah, Stacey, just make a little 'to do' list and tick off each thing as you manage to achieve it. I'd be inclined to hand out the invites asap just so that you'll also get your rsvps in plenty of time. I'm a bit of a control freak and wouldn't let anyone else help - nobody can do it as good as me!!! Just prioritise essential things that only you can do, and then if you do run out of time, other people may be able to help (under your supervision). Online shopping for gifts / decs and guest books is great - especially ebay. :)

make a list of "to do" list on a daily basis, important things first. you'll be much relaxed seeing that you'll only have one or two things to be done each day rather than seeing all the things that you need to do all at once.

I was exactly the same, I hadnt chosen exactly what flowers I was having for my centre pieces until the day before and suit and bridesmaid dress for my step kids werent bought until the week before. Make the main list, then do little lists off of that. So top can be suits - with that you needs shoes, shirt tie etc. Then favours, write a list of the stuff you need to make the favours. Its sounds massively anal (which I am haha) but lists are the way forward. xx

I'd agree with Zoe - it's probably best to send out the invites sooner rather than later. The closer to Christmas you get the busier everyone is, so if you give them out now you'll hopefully avoid that. We didn't trust people at all - we sent RSVP cards together with stamped addressed envelopes so that all they literally had to do was write their name, tick a box and send it back! It's funny because the 'to do' lists in wedding magazines always suggest sending the invites out 6-8 weeks beforehand - I personally think that's mad! People tend to need far longer to make arrangements than that.

I'll second the list approach - I had a massive Excel spreadsheet to help me! It's quite satisfying to tick things off :) Christmas will take a lot of planning time away, and once you get to January there's not much time left... I'd try and get the fiddly stuff done before Christmas, so that you have less to worry about in January. What are your favours going to be, and can they be made in advance? From the sheer number I'd guess they'll take a little while, so might be best to tackle that one first. How about the venue decorations - what are you planning?

You'll get there hon xxx

this is why we chose to have 2 years to plan because i wont let anybody else to anything.

I love lists. We have a spreadsheet with all the guests names on there along with their address and invite level etc.

Well we booked our wedding 26months ago. But when i done it, i was talk, talk, talking about it constantly so i knew by the look on my h2b face that i had to chill out a litle bit and shut my mouth!!!

So i was really good and didnt do anything until about 6months ago. I have done invites now only have a few left to post out for through the day, and have all the night time invites to write out all 250 of them (we have a very very large family)

For the venue decorations i have 300 chair covers to do, vases with flowers for all tables, sweet table, kiddies entertainment, i have to decorated cake and top table aswell. I have also started doing day time favours so i have only 80 left to do but they take up so much time and are really fiddley. They are small jars with screw lids, and i have put a personalised sticker on the lid with ribbon around the top and will be adding sweets inside them. I will add a picture when i take some on he camera.

I have a tick list but i just find it really hard to stick to everything on there. I had a talk with my Mam and Nan yesterday and they are going to come and help me do as much as they can. So that has made me feel a lot better.

I know it will work out but its creeping up on me sooooooo fast its unreal.

I need to do suits end of november as they wont take my order yet as we have 18 people in suits. (all my Mams brothers, kids etc) so thats one less thing to worry about. xx

Wow, big family! I'm sure you'll get there, it sounds like you have a good idea of what you have to do and when you're gonna do it by :)

Wow those are huuuuge numbers!! My family is tiny, I don't even have any cousins!

The favours sound really cute though (even if they are fiddley), I'd love to see some pictures of them when you get a sec :)
