lol !
I agree with everyone though, same colour, same fabric, different styles is fine .. my sister had this at her wedding, although infact the fabric was totally different but the bridesmaids still looked matched in the the same hair / accessories / flowers etc...
I kinda wished I'd done this for my BMs but my BM dresses were a total bargain, however my friend did feel uncomfortable cos she is large in the bust department and the dress was quite low cut, although I had said to her to pin the 'V' together before the day and she hadn't had the time

Yay
So me and BM went to try on dresses today and she was much more cooperative than I thought she'd have been... She is very well endowed in the chest area (to say the least) and was quite adamant about what would suit her, what she'd be able to wear etc etc
We've narrowed it down to two dresses, either of which can be in the same colour as my sister's dress and I'm happy with whichever she decides to go with.
One is http://sophiatolli.c...cial%20Occasion and the other is http://sophiatolli.c...cial%20Occasion which we'd have another strap added too so she can wear a proper bra and have the length altered so that it's tea length like the other.
I'd originally been quite taken with the one I posted as option 2. But in real life, it has a line that runs right across the chest, so basically anyone large chested gets their boobs cut in half in the most unflattering way!

I like them both but I think I would go for the first one. (presume she would be wearing a halter neck bra?) I liked this dress the first time round, but the other reason is that you can see what it looks like now, before alterations. I would just be a bit worried about how it would sit if if it was shortened to knee length and you cant really try it.
If you both realy prefer it, then go for it, but check out if the dress shop do it for you and how much they will charge? Also maybe asking them if have they done it before and how it worked?
Has your sister come around to different styles?

well the great thing about where all the dresses are coming from is that she is an amazing seamstress and includes all alterations in the price upfront, so that's not an issue. Hoping she's got a picture of one she's done before in that style though so we get a better idea of how it'll look.
my sister still isn't convinced...

oh that's good. When i got my bridesmaid dresses I wanted them shorter, originally they said ok when we ordered them and then got so much hassle when it came to it!! At one stage they told me I couldnt have them to the length we had agreed, I sat in the shop and cried! in the end they shortened them and they did look great though
Thats why I was a bit worried for you but sounds like you trust your shop and if she has done it before sounds brill.
But to be honest apart from the day I tried my dress on, i was never impressed with my shop. They didnt communicate or tell me when I needed to do stuff and made me feel like I was being a pain for asking for small things or questions. They never had my appointments in the diary and just werent accomodating! In fact, if I could go back and find another shop to change the whole experience I would.... but sounds like you are having a completly different expereince
Sorry anyway.. rant over (I think i have unresolved issues about my dress shop ha ha) both dresses are lovely and will match your sisters no problem.
Which one is your fave??

oh no, sounds like they didn't treat you very well, which is a shame, I've had a nice experience so far (touch wood!)
Will definitely check that she's done that style before, just to be certain!
I like both, they both looked lovely on, even in the wrong sizes you could tell they suited. Quite hard to picture the longer one shortened at the moment though if you know what I mean.

Ooh tricky decision! I'm really pleased for you that you've narrowed it down though
I think I prefer the halter neck - I think the other one would look really nice shorter, but I can't imagine it with another strap added on.

I think I'm going against the general consensus and voting for number 2, but they are both really lovely to be fair.
