I'm going to be a bit different and have asked my step-dad and my brother to give me away. I haven't seen my real dad for years, tbh he is a waste of time. My big bro and stepdad have always been there for me and have more than filled the place of my biological dad.

Im not quite sure how it will work, but Im gonna do it! :)

My Mum is walking me down the aisle. I've not heard from or seen my Dad over the past 5 years so he won't even be at the wedding.

I walked by myself, but my parents and my best friend went in before me.
It being my second marriage it didn't seem right my dad giving me away twice!

My parents divorced when I was 7 and my step-dad has always been really good to me. I'm still close to my Dad though, so when it came to deciding who should give me away I couldn't choose!!

In the end, they both gave me away, and when the registrar asked "who gives this woman...?" they both stepped up, looked at each other, and said "We do!" :) Needless to say, it got a big laugh from everyone!!

They both did speeches after the meal too :)

On my first marriage I had my best friend Neil. This time i'll not bother with anyone I don''t think. I just want to be there with my children and my man :)

The pictures are beautiful! It is lovely that you're still close to your real dad and have you're step dad too. Unfortunately Im not close to my real dad, he won't even be at our wedding. It'll be just my big bro and my step-dad..I wonder who they'll both walk me up? Maybe walk behind me or in front? ahhh plenty of time to think it through lol! xx

I am the same as far as my real dad goes. I've not seen him for 14years now and didn't hear from him for 13 of those years. I managed to get back in touch with him via a cousin of mine and we kept in touch via phone for about 4 months, I last spoke to him March 2010, he said he would call me in April - I never heard from him and still haven't until this day. It saddens me to a degree, but I have tried and that's all I can do. I won't be trying again.

Why not have both your brother and step-dad then :) - as long as your aisle is wide enough that is!

Perfect solution :D

I'd love my partners father to give me away as he's more of a dad than i've ever had but just doesn't seem right.

I have the same problem, i havent spoken to my family for over 8 years so wont have my dad giving me away. Went through the thought of having my step son do it or my father in law did offer but like I said, I am joining their family so seems odd them giving me away if you know what I mean. In the end decided on my best friend instead. She is wearing a bridesmaid dress but doing the job of my dad. xx
