So many of the little and not so little details and plans for the wedding have changed so i thought i would save myself some hassle and save everyone from becoming confused, and simply just make a new thread.

the venues are the same

our church.

this is a Justine Alexander 8465, i am having it in ivory and this is THE dress deposit is paid. I got so excited earlier that i forgot to get a picture of me in the dress but i intend on going back in a few months to show the mothers my dress. It was supposed to be £1010 but i am having it for £900 so cant complain too much really.

last winter i saw a beautiful dress for my daughter to wear we were not sure what size to get her she will be 2 and a half years old but she is tall so in the end we picked 3-4 years thinking we would need to alter it slightly closer to the time but i tried it on her the other day and it is only an inch too long! Here is the dress
Attached Image: SDC12081.JPG

And here is the little monster herself all decked out in the dress little bag and her headband
Attached Image: SDC12567.JPG

and today i have also ordered my bridesmaids dress wait for it ... from Tesco. I was hunting for something for Abi and stumbled across this Maxi Dress, i love the detailing under the bust so it is the same colour as my dress but there is an old thing about the bridesmaids wearing the same colour as the bride to confuse the devil and since i am having a church wedding it seemed nice and it is the only dress my bridesmaids can agree on so yay.
Also it is a completely different style to mine but that way people will know which one is the bride lol and nobody would expect me to walk down behind them in the tea length dress.
3rd plus point i was having a nose online and turns out tesco are having a half price sale on women's clothing until midnight so i got both bridesmaids dresses for £30.

now back to the pictures: my shoes

My bracelet also known as my something old
Attached Image: SDC12123.JPG

My necklace was going to be a sparkly one but now my shoes are on show thanks to the dress i dont want too much blingy stuff so my new idea is to borrow one of Abi's silver crucifixes (she was given two for her christening), this way it will be my something borrowed and Abi will be wearing her other crucifix so we will be matching sort of.
The one i am borrowing

and the one Abi will be wearing

Also this week H2B ring arrived, it is very plain and simple a polished titanium ring engraved on the inside. It fits but if it is a warm day we might have to grease his knuckle to get the ring over
Attached Image: SDC12599.JPG

another little detail is the wooden lilac fans i have brought for me, mil2b, moh, bridesmaid and mum just in case we have a boiling hot day nothing special really

And the very last thing for tonight the start of my invites. I am having welsh inspired designs for my bookmark save the dates which include lovespoons. My invites however are very simple and not fussy yet they still fit in with the lilac ivory and lace feel of the day. I only have a picture of the outer pocket of the invite, the camera chose that moment to die.

I was thinking of getting a small cream lace parasol for Abi to have on the day, What do you ladies think because i dont want to make her look like she is in training to become Mary had a little lamb?Posted Image

All looks beautiful so far! I love the fans, and if it's a hot day they will really come in handy! Abi looks very cute in her dress (I love her hair!) but I think a parasol might be too much... I think it would look lovely with your outfit though, so you could always get one and maybe sneak some photos of her with it!

Yeah, I'm not sure about a parasol, but it might be an idea to give Abi a "job" on the day. Something that she's in charge of that keeps her mind occupied.

Kate middleton had her bridesmaids in white.. you will probably be in with the trend for the season ha ha!!

Have you got a colour in mind for flowers? if not maybe something to add a little colour but not too bold??

I agree with frogbitch, she might get fed up with the parasol or hide behind it if she is shy? what about a fairy wand made from a flower (my flower girls loved theirs- i can post a pick if you like- the florist made them for me) or a basket with petals to scatter?

Oh that sounds gorgeous, I love hydranges, we had them in the flowers on the table. I think that subtle coulour will look amazing and fit really well with your dress too.

I found these..

Thanks popple.

I am going for something similar to the the second picture MrsBrown just a bit more purple. A lot of my family including Abi suffer from hayfever so we are not having many flowers. for the reception tables i am making cupcakes and piping them with lilac blue icing so they will look like they have hydrangea flowers on. The cupcakes are going to stand on glass single tier cake stands if i can find some i like.

We have also picked how we are going to do our name places, we are going to buy lots of wine and maybe pint glasses and use some blackboard paint to paint a square on the glass and write the guests name on there in a blackboard pen so it doesnt rub off easily. What do you think?

Hi,

Are you hoping that your guests take their glasses/ bottles away? My only thought would be that having a large bottle or a glass to carry around may not be the best idea for some guests. Also I wonder if some guest will just open their wine and drink it in the evening, which may be ok with you but may annoy your venue if bar takings are down?

also from experience I know a bride who spent a fortune getting favours (Wine bottle tops and make up compacts) I remember when we were leaving seeing lots of the favours on the tables and thinking that would have upset me, all that effort and cost for people to leave them.

What about smaller/ mini bottles though? I found these websites which print labels, though I am sure you could do something similar and just as effective.

Also found this image which I think looks ace?
