The Day Before

Our family started arriving at their hotels the day before the wedding, so most of Friday was spent rushing round visiting them all and dropping things off / picking things up. This was probably my most stressed out day, and most of it was spent in a hot car which didn’t help.
Packing for the honeymoon is one thing that is always difficult to fit in with planning a wedding. In a way it seems odd that months (even years) of planning go into that one special day, yet the honeymoon packing takes such a backbench (well for me it did). It dawned on me in that final week that I really should pack for the honeymoon, so started hurling things in the suitcase as and when I thought of them.
Packing for the wedding day was actually really hard. It was tricky trying to remember all the things that I might need, and I had to keep looking at the reminder lists on the forums for inspiration. The absolute essential item I needed for my dress was (ahem) tit tape. I managed to locate some, and so crossed it off my list. What I failed to actually do was take it out of the shopping bag and put it in my case…
That evening, the bridesmaids, best man and their partners came over to ours for some pizza and drinks, which provided some much needed distraction and relaxation. After over eight years together, Ian and I decided that it was daft to spend the night before the wedding apart. Knowing I would have trouble sleeping and would probably wake up excited at ridiculous-o-clock in the morning, I took a sleeping pill and drifted off into blissful chemically-assisted sleep…

I bet at the end was worth all the effort. I'm getting married in September and reading your forum about spending the night before apart, just wondered on the 'day', if you both went separate rooms to get ready and not see each other til the ceromony?
I'm getting married on a Saturday and we've rented a 7 bedroom barn from Fri-Mon, and it'll be hard to 'not see each other day before' because of where we're staying.
Oh and what brand sleeping pill cause I know I will have trouble sleeping as I would be nervous wreck!
